Online Product Sales - Tip 1 - Friday, 23rd May, 2008
Selling products online is different to selling products in a retail. There are many key differences between e-tail and retail; in this blog I will identify a couple of key differences and also a good tip on how to utilize e-tail selling. So lets get to it.
The first key difference is the power given to your customer. Online customers have a greater choice in which e store to shop with. So the million dollar question is, why would a customer choose your e store? Whether a customer chooses you or the next e store is dependent on a number of factors. I will list some of the key factors involved:
- Price. (You must be competitive, not necessarily the cheapest.)
- Trust. (Can the customer trust you are a legitimate store?)
- Ease of navigation. (Is the order process easy to understand?)
- Location. (Is your e store easy to find in the first place?)
My tip of the day is to talk about winning your visitors trust. People talk about being competitive on price, offering good customer support and running a good internet marketing campaign; however, trust is just as important. One method of winning your customers' trust, is to display your ebay account or trademe account stats and a link to your account. TradeMe is a trusted New Zealand source for buying and Ebay is a trusted source worldwide. An example of an E Commerce store displaying their Trade Me account is: EzyImports. Their account is displayed in the top right hand corner.
Winning your trust
