A successful website is like owning a pet. Owning a pet involves: Feeding it on a regular basis Giving your pet attention Make sure your pet is healthy Sometimes pets are taught tricks and are sent to obedience training. To get straight to the point; a number of people create and purchase a website, expecting the website to produce big profits with no effort. The real truth is you need to spend a healthy amount of time on your website to create a successful website. First you need to give people a reason to keep coming back. A couple of simple suggestions include: Running a blog, launching an email campaign, running good sales and writing articles on your product range. Adding new widgets and gadgets to your website, can help traffic. For example, developing flash games could be a good idea, as they have a proven track record especially if it requires skill. Remember there are two main aspects to running a website, being: developing and marketing. Both developing and marketing are ongoing exercises; if you stop one or the other, your website will eventually die. The good news is constantly changing websites tend to have an extremely greater chance of succeeding compared to untouched websites. So put on your marketing or developer hat and get cracking.
